Spring… and New Beginnings

Despite the cold temperatures, spring is definitely here.

We’ve just moved into our new home and though we are having a few teething problems we are loving our new garden with the spring flowers. The daffodils are a beautiful of colour down the garden. What’s your favourite spring flower?

I’m excited to see what plants and flowers will appear as the year progresses. Along with traditional Japanese patterns used for Sashiko, I love exploring how I can use the simple stitching to produce beautiful flower designs.

I’m already thinking about my next Sashiko worshop idea: a door hanging, like the Japanese noren curtain, which are ideal for allowing air in and keeping flies out as well, as adding a splash of colour and interest.
